Piggybacking on a spirit of adventurous attitude, vintage Toyota Land Cruisers continue to be a desirable off-road utility vehicle amongst car collectors both old and young. Especially when you add a fully restored and rebuilt Land Cruiser into the mix, such a desire is unsurprisingly escalated across the board. Take this 1979 BJ40 for example, recently sold at Bonham’s Amelia Island Auction this past March.
Featuring a completely rebuilt 3L B-type engine along with a full and documented frame-off restoration, this vintage ride is the real deal for aspiring car collectors and adventurists alike. The work was completed by Connecticut-based Legacy Overland who – over the course of thousands of man hours – managed to off-road-proof this handsome Land Cruiser. Some upgrades include LED headlights along with a set of fog lights, a Hi-lift jack in front of the passenger door, genuine leather seats throughout, and a retro-style Bluetooth-enabled sound system. The ’79 Land Cruiser also now sports a Cadet Blue gloss paint job and rides atop a set of BF Goodrich all-terrain tires.
