Founded in Ventura, California in 2011, Iron & Resin has carved out a unique place in the gear and apparel space with a range of products inspired by the so-called golden age of surfing and motorcycles. Rather than merely catering to this outdoor and adventure-focused lifestyle, I&R actually lives it themselves, as evidenced by the Southern California company’s slew of special projects and collaborations — the latest of with sees Iron & Resin join forces with Minnesota’s New Legend 4×4 to deliver a custom-built 1972 International Harvester Scout II.

Representing I&R’s third custom rig build, the Scout is adorned in a genuine patinaed paint job and features a rear motorcycle rack, a pair of HELLA auxiliary lights, removable soft doors and rear side windows, and a steel dome top. In order to bestow the vehicle with I&R’s own unique flavor, the apparel brand has treated the Scout’s still largely stock interior to new seats that are now upholstered in 1.2mm – 1.3mm buffalo leather and Shelter Series 14.75oz waxed cotton canvas — two ultra-durable materials frequently utilized by Iron & Resin in their jackets and clothing, including in the capsule collection just released by the brand in collaboration with New Legend, which is comprised of a mechanic jacket, a shop apron, a tool roll, and a special graphic tee.
