Khyzyl Saleem Reimagines A ‘70s Aston Vantage As A Formula DRIFT Car

The original Aston Martin V8 Vantage that was introduced in the ‘70s is one of the coolest cars ever made, thanks to its unique styling that combines the look of an American muscle car with the refined luxury of a British grand tourer. And while the Vantage’s hybrid looks make it a versatile sports car, we never imagined seeing one as a Formula D drift car. But then again, we’re not designer Khyzyl Saleem.

Saleem has taken his self-proclaimed “favorite Aston” and transformed it into a radical drift car with a full-metal body. The car’s bare steel frame has been slammed and stanced, while a massive rear diffuser and front splitter add an aggressive look. Speaking of aggression, this thing looks especially loud and mean thanks to its horn-like side exit exhaust and the V8’s velocity stacks jutting out of the hood. The mirrors have been moved above the front arches, 240Z-style, and an interior roll cage has been added for safety’s sake. But best of all is the amount of detail that Saleem put into the bodywork, as the car’s metal panels show loads of dents, dings, and scratches that suggest it’s been thrown around the track quite a bit.
