Auction Block: 1968 Ford Mustang ‘Bullitt’ Replica

Bullitt isn’t just one of the best car flicks; it’s one of the best movies of all time. And while some of that can be chalked up to the acting of Steve McQueen, a hefty amount of credit is due to the car that bears the same name as the film. That 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, simply put, is a beautiful marvel of mechanical engineering. Although this one is not that exact car, it has been customized to Bullit’s same specifications. And it’s going to auction.

Painted the same shade of Highland Green, equipped with American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, and featuring a blackout grille completely lacking any badges – this Mustang is the spitting image of the iconic movie car. In fact, it’s even powered by the same S-code 390 CI V-8 engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. While we can’t say how much this gorgeous replica vehicle will go for (probably a fortune), we do know that it’s going to end up in the hands of one lucky SOB. [Purchase]
