Yachts aren’t typically considered to be the most environmentally-friendly means of transportation and luxury. However, Swedish design studio Hareide Design is attempting to change all that with this proposed project; a hybrid megayacht designed to get passengers more in touch with nature.
The 108m megayacht concept features an elevated dining area for guests to admire the surrounding aquatic landscape and a peaceful garden to keep some semblance of land available on the deck. There’s also a 20m pool in this area as well, and at the stern, a seamless beach-like transition to the water adds the yachts natural charm and a helipad atop the yacht is available in case any other friends decide to join the party. Inside exists a grand hall serving as the ideal location for ceremonies and meetings, as well as an impressive view of the outside world. It’s a miracle of modern engineering, powered by 300 square meters of high-efficiency solar panels that charge banks of lithium-ion batteries which keep the lights on and propel the yacht at a slow cruising speed. However, if higher speed and longer distances are your preferences, the yacht also offers diesel-electric propulsion.
