Suntory Roku Japanese Gin

Well known in the whiskey world for making one of the best Japanese spirits, the master distillers at Suntory are far from one-trick ponies. In fact, they’ve been making gin since 1936. Their latest release, called Roku, is named for the spirit’s six distinct Japanese botanicals.

While gin, unlike whiskey, typically isn’t known for time spent in the creation of the beverage, this one is a little different. That’s because it takes four seasons to cultivate the sakura flower, sakura leaf, sencha tea, gyokuro tea, sanshō pepper, and yuzu peel that go into each batch of Roku. Each element is harvested at its peak to ensure the absolute best balance and flavor, making this gin a truly singular spirit. And that’s to say nothing of the eight other botanicals that give Roku an authentic gin flavor profile. Enjoy it on its own or in a delicious gin and tonic for $45 a bottle.
