The Beastie Boy have always been known to let the beat…mmmmmdrrrooooop. Now, they’re planning to finally drop their long-awaited memoir, entitled Beastie Boys Book. A perfect bookshelf edition for any fan of the New York trio, Beastie Boys Book hits the market on October 30.
Fans have been awaiting this epic and oft-delayed memoir since it was first scheduled for release in 2015. So you might have to fight for your right to own this 592-page tome when it comes to bookstores the day before Halloween. Written by the two surviving members, Michael “Mike D” Diamond and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz, the book tells the story of the the young Beastie Boys rise to the top following their 1986 release of License To Ill, and the journey on which it set them. The book features rare photographs of the Mike D, Ad-Rock, and the late Adam “MCA” Yauch chronicling their progression from the first projects with Russell Simmons to their later years as social activists. It features essays from comedian Amy Poehler and directors Spike Jonze and Wes Anderson (along with a graphic novel and cook book). Keep an eye out; don’t sabotage your chance to own a piece of hip-hop history.
