Though one was founded during the the early half of the 1900s and the other just a decade ago in 2008, Topo Designs and Danner Boots have a good deal in common. Both have a distinctive west-coast vibe and a penchant for simplicity – so it’s maybe not that surprising that the two have teamed up once again for a special Topo Designs X Danner Mountain Light Boot and Daypack release.
For the boot, Danner sourced an all black premium Horween leather, lined it with GORE-TEX for total waterproofing, and attached the upper to a rugged Vibram Sierra Outsole. For an extra touch, Danner gave their boot a bright red fleck paracord lacing and adorned the tongue with Topo Designs’ open-map logo. For their part, Topo fitted their daypack with a black Horween leather base while cutting the rest of the bag’s fabric from a dark-as-night 12-ounce cotton canvas. More than just featuring a handsome look and unique Topo X Danner logo relief on a leather patch, the bag features a pair of water bottle holders, and even a 15-inch laptop sleeve. And, of course, both the boots and backpack were made right here in the U.S. of A.
