Auction Block: 1968 Porsche 908 Works

Among other notable feats, Porsche is known for their prowess in manufacturing award-winning race cars for their factory team. The Porsche 908 Works chassis no. 908-910, shown here, is one such rarity that, unfortunately, was retired by the brand once it slid off the track at Spa after 34 laps and therefore retired from the racing circuit.

Fortunately for one lucky buyer, that very same vehicle was discovered, brought to the United States, and was completely restored by prototype expert John Corsen who prepared the race car for several vintage events on the West Coast. To this day, the 908 Works retains its original chassis and the factory 3-liter flat-8 cylinder 908 engine with an output of 350 hp  – making it ready for auction at Monterey where it’s expected to fetch a pretty penny from some lucky collector looking for his next Concours appearance.
