2018 Yamaha XSR700 ‘Faster Son’ By Hageman Cycles

For a lot of us, our earliest memories of ripping two wheels begin as riding on the gas tank of one of dad’s old rides. For the boys down at Hageman Cycles of Bettendorf, Iowa this image is still fresh in their minds after recently completing their overhaul of a 2018 XSR700 they call ‘Faster Son.’

With Yamaha feeding our hunger for modern performance cloaked in retro styling, partnering with Hageman Cycles to push the limits of their factory platform was a great choice. Hageman, specializing in resto mods of all varieties, modeled this brand new XSR on their recently rehabilitated 1972 XS650, dubbed ‘Faster Father.’ Borrowing style cues from the ‘father’ bike, the painted headlight bucket, tuck-and-roll saddle, low-profile riser clamp, and swept back bars give this heir the look and feel of a classic street machine. Don’t think of this is a one-off custom though, as the main criteria for the build was to inspire the average rider with feasible add-ons that could be done at home.
