BMW R80RT by VR Motorcycles

For someone who didn’t even own a motorcycle workshop at the time he began piecing together this clean rebuild of a 1993 ex-police BMW R80RT, Mark Ceilinger certainly caught the world by surprise with this clean cafe racer.

Ironically, it wouldn’t be until Mark first got knee deep in the project that the idea of a custom workshop came to mind – now dubbed Vintage Room Motorcycles. So, beginning with the motor, Mark decided to undertake the dubious task of rebuilding the entire piece – now with new seals, bearings, gaskets, rings and a new clutch plate. After which, it was powder coated black and hand sanded down to the bare metal. The carburetors were also refurbished, and a custom aluminum heat shield was added for a little extra protection. Additionally, Motogadget gear is outfitted across the dash and an RFID keyless ignition prevents unwanted use. The new cafe racer also hosts a sleek black leather seat with a clean teak-wood seat hump complete with an integrated LED light, a set of lowered forks, a new Wilburs shock, and Heidenau K60 Scout tires for good measure.
