As defined by GORUCK, ‘rucking’ is the act of carrying a weighted pack on your back in an urban setting and is the foundation of Special Forces training. In fact, the brand puts on an 8-10 hour, 15-20 mile guided city tour around the act referred to as the GORUCK Challenge. And now they’ve released an active daypack perfect for the event, called the Rucker.
As you might imagine, the Rucker is a bit on the tougher side than most daypacks. It’s capable of toting up to 400 pounds, is built from Special Forces-grade 1000D Cordura nylon, is affixed with heavy-duty YKK zippers, is MOLLE-equipped, and can even be rigged with a hydration pack. In fact, it’s a lot like the brand’s famous GR1 with the exception of a bombproof laptop pouch. Instead, this one has a pocket built specifically to house GORUCK’s signature Ruck Plates (a requirement for the GORUCK Challenge). If you need an unbelievably capable backpack, but you don’t want to fuss with too many pockets or pouches, this one can be yours for $195.
