Auction Block: Steve Jobs’ 2000 BMW Z8

We all know Steve Jobs as the mastermind behind one of the most formidable tech companies around today. However, not a whole lot of us remember Jobs as a car enthusiast – which to us was surprising as well when we learned that in addition to this 2000 BMW Z8, Jobs also owned BMW motorcycles and a Mercedes-Benz SLS.

Now, his former Z8 is slated to hit the auction block here in the near future where it’s expected to fetch upwards of $300,000. As far as the car’s condition is concerned, Jobs was rumored to drive it regularly – though to this day the odometer only reads 15,200 logged miles. He owned the Z8 for a total of three years up until 2003 when it was sold to the current Los Angeles owner. What’s also interesting is the fact that it’s rumored Larry Ellison, Oracle’s CEO, convinced jobs to first make the purchase back in 2000 because the car matched both Jobs’ personality and Apple products. We must say it looks as if he was on to something.

Purchase: $300,000+
