Nike Cortez Flyknit

When it comes to hype in the sneaker world, most of the oxygen is taken out of the room by newer silhouettes. Every once in a while, though, a classic sneaker will make a reappearance and grab everyone’s attention. This time around, that sneaker is the Nike Cortex Flyknit.

Produced by Nike company way back in 1972, these sneakers were the company’s first ever track runner. After being worn by the likes of Steve Prefontaine during that year’s summer Olympics they exploded in popularity and have remained a classic ever since. Now, Nike has outfitted the silhouette with some of their more recently developed technologies; a Flyknit upper and Nike Free outsole. The shoe is still immediately recognizable as a Cortez, but thanks to the new technology, it is all the more comfortable and versatile. Both the red white and blue and high contrast black and white colorways will be available on the 4th of July. [H/T: SneakerNews]
