Airdog ADII Hands-Free Camera Drone

Camera drones have really leveled the playing field when it comes to capturing action-adventure footage. But, most of them still require the use of at least one person’s hands to control their flight path and point the camera. Well, now the drone operator can be the star of the show thanks to Airdog’s ADII hands-free drone.

An update to the first iteration of Airdog’s automated camera drone, this version uses AirLeash technology – a virtual tether that connects to a simplified control unit worn by the user – allowing the drone to pinpoint its subject via GPS and LiDAR. In conjunction, it’s also equipped with a full-range of sensors to measure barometric pressure, acceleration, and more which help it avoid colliding with the surrounding territory. It’s also wind-resistant up to 30 knots and can be programmed with routes or set to a group of “free-follow” modes for quick and instant use. Best of all, it will automatically return a designated landing spot when the battery gets low, so you never have to worry about it taking an unexpected dive. Back this project on Kickstarter now starting at $1,099 or wait for when it hits retail at $1,500.
