It’s almost a shame that things like Mission Workshop’s Bosun Jacket bare the title of “men’s basics.” There is absolutely nothing basic about this classically cut zip up hoodie.
Made from 345 gsm Merino wool this four way stretch jacket is an ideal layer for cold weather rides. The relatively thin layer can function just as well as an outer layer, or as a mid under a rain shell during inclement weather. To protect from the kind of wear and tear you’d expect from shouldering large cycling packs, the San Francisco based brand stitched a durable nylon shoulder and elbow patches along the arms. In addition to designing the jacket for durability, the Bosun also has a degree of versatility thanks to the removable box hood. As far as storage and pockets go, the jacket keeps with the classic cycling style and features a touring pocket along the back of the jacket for storing gear or food. We honestly can’t think of a better go-to riding jacket.
