1972 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser

Sometimes nostalgia can serve as a useful motivational factor for creativity, such as taking a childhood memory or experience and allowing that to manifest itself in physical form. Such is the case with this 1972 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser built out by The FJ Company and modeled after a Tonka truck the owner had as a child. That, combined with his father’s love for classic cars resulted in a fine off-road adventure mobile that’s practically ready for anything.

Upon receiving the vehicle, its wasn’t equipped with the original engine. So, The FJ Company decided to rebuild a Toyota 3F engine and match it with a 5-speed manual transmission. They also decided to add in an Old Man Emu suspension and power steering for a little something extra as well. Combine that with a custom black vinyl interior, LED headlights, a Raptor bed liner, tow hitch, a Fusion marine-grade audio system, and Cooper Discoverer A/T tires and you have one hell of an off-road machine. Don’t forget about the custom metallic orange exterior either, this is a Tonka restoration after all.
