BMW R65 Riot Starter By IWC Motorcycles

What initially began as a fascination with cafe racers back in 2012 soon grew into the now Dutch custom garage known as IronWood Custom Motorcycles. Founded by owner Arjan van Boom and Partner, they work to piecemeal vintage-inspired bikes they envision as a mean “brat style.” And with releases like this BMW R65 Riot Starter making their way out of the shop, it’s safe to say they’re following their passion with a vengeance.

First things first, the team over at IWCMotorcycles wanted to strip this thing down and basically start anew. So with the help of a new custom subframe that was sandblasted and powder-coated satin black, they were able to breathe new life into this ride. Additionally, a Honda CB400 tank was affixed to the build along with a CB400 rear fender now featuring a classic yellow stripe in the paint. The crew also hooked the new racer up with a Harley Davidson side-mount headlight, custom saddle courtesy of Miller Kustom Upholstery, a 3-piece Stainless steel exhaust system built in-house, a Caferacers United speedo, and DNA carb power filters among many other custom upgrades. The finished beauty rides atop Continental TKC80 tires and looks ready to tear through those Western European hillsides with ease.
