You might think that laptop computers have hit a plateau. After all, there’s only so much you can do with that old book-inspired folding design. Screens can only get so big; cases can only get so thin. Well, Razer – a brand known for their flashy hardcore PC gaming gear – has taken things a bit outside of the box with their latest reveal, the Project Valerie concept laptop.
One thing is clear: this design is incredibly ambitious. Within its unibody CNC machined aluminum chassis, it features three 17.3-inch 4K IGZO displays. And each are equipped with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology for incredibly smooth framerates. That’s kind of like genetically engineering a unicorn, except better, because the monitors also offer 100% Adobe RGB accurate colors. This insane design would allow the user to have all the perks of fully-immersive gaming and bypass all the frustrations of a stationary desktop. But it doesn’t stop there. It’s also equipped with the brand’s Ultra-Low-Profile mechanical switches (which register with 65 grams of force), a high-tech “thermal management system,” and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card – which far exceeds leading VR software requirements. If this 12-pound beast ever goes into production, however, you can expect a hefty price tag to match. [Purchase]
