Land Rover figured that Mr. and Mrs. Claus deserved something a bit warmer than their usual digs up in the North Pole this year, so they enlisted Mads Linstrøm of Danish firm Lumo Arkitekter to build something small enough to fit into the back of their SUV, but large enough to sleep two. The result? The Compact Cabin.
After Santa makes the rounds this year, he can pour himself a big mug of egg nog and cozy up with the Mrs. in this 11 by 6.5 foot sleeping cabin for a bit of a long weekend. With big open windows on both ends and tiny holes along the sides, this cabin brings in a lot of natural light while also remaining tough enough to protect from temperatures as cold as -4 degrees fahrenheit. Just to make sure everything was up to spec, Land Rover asked 12 time Everest climber Kenton Cool to climb in in and test it in the same chamber they cold-test their cars. Once he gave the thumbs up the team loaded it up in the back of the Discovery Sport and delivered it right to them, cookies and all. Now only if we could all get the same perks that Santa does.
