Glenfiddich IPA Experiment Whisky

Once you’ve perfected the art of your craft things run a little mundane in the realm of innovation. That is, of course, until you begin experimenting with your product in new and interesting manners. Such is the case for Glenfiddich, the world-renowned Speyside Scotch distiller any fan of the dram knows and loves.

The variant at hand here, dubbed The India Pale Ale Experiment, is the first official release of Glenfiddich’s Experimental Series, an effort to continue in their efforts to distill a wide range of unique and intriguing single malts. It was completed in part thanks to India Pale Ale expert Seb Jones, who helped brew three different batches of IPA, aging them for different amounts of time in rich oak casks. The barrels of beer were then replaced with single malt scotch and the rest, as they say, is history. What remains is a single malt with ample zesty and citrus notes in addition to a subtle hoppy character. Truly unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. It’s the first round in this Experimental Series and we’d be kidding ourselves if we said we weren’t excited to see what’s unveiled next. [Purchase]
