Concretus Wireless Speaker

One of the mistakes too many creative people make is to look for inspiration in the beautiful and uncommon things in life while ignoring the everyday. Gražina Bočkutė, just a second year product design student at the Vilnius Academy of Arts in Lithuania didn’t fall into that trap, however. Just take a look at her Concretus wireless speaker.

Inspired by the tetrapods on the pier in the coastal city of Klaipėda, the young student looked to find a way to incorporate those same stark lines and texture into a set of Bluetooth wireless speakers. The result of the project would make any brutalist architecture nerd fan proud – the neutral grey contrasts sharply with the gleaming metal speaker. When users set these up in their incredibly cool industrial lofts (where else would you put these?) they can easily control them via their smartphones or on a dial on the side of the speaker.
