2017 Jeep Wrangler Trailcat Concept

Ahead of the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab Utah, the storied American auto maker has released a series of concept vehicles built using Jeep and Mopar parts. The reason for all of these concept releases? This year is both the 50th anniversary of the event and Jeep’s 75th. And while there were some solid off-roaders among the bunch, it’s the 2017 Jeep Wrangler Trailcat that really caught our attention.

The Jeep Trailcat is built to be nimble on the trail sections of the course and fast on the flat and long sections of the course. Powered by a 6.2-liter Hemi Hellcat V-8 that pumps 707 horsepower through the 6-speed manual transmission, this off-road vehicle has a lot of muscle. In addition to the souped up performance, the engineers and designers who worked on this model lengthened the wheelbase an additional 12 inches, chopped the windshield down a few inches, and threw in bucket seats from the Dodge Viper. All of that combined with the lime green details and 39.5 inch BFGoodrich Krawler T/A KX tires are making us wish this was more than just a concept.
