Nostalgia is a powerful drug. But as potent as it is, we can safely say we never ever wanna go back to the days of VHS. The crappy video quality. The tracking. The moral obligation to be kind and rewind. Never again! OK, that said, then why is it these faux covers for modern day movies and shows by Julien Knez have us wanting them so bad?
Knez put his considerable Photoshop skills to work for an April Fools’ Day prank, then put the artwork inside actual VHS tape cases. The result is seeing today’s biggest franchises dulled down to shoddy 80s quality. Check out Guardians of the Galaxy, Interstellar (“in HQ”), Game of Thrones (“plus previews of other hit movies!”), and Breaking Bad (“for the first time on VHS!”). The Walking Dead has a whopping whole two episodes on its cassette! Totally rad.
