Detroit has been pumping out nothing but quality as of late, and Cadillac looks to keep the trend going strong. An official competitor to BMW’s iconic M3 (and now M4), meet the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V.
There was a time when comparing the M3 to any type of Cadillac was literally an apples to oranges conversation. These days, things have changed. Packed with a 3.6-liter V6 engine producing 455 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque, this thing means business. The power is transmitted through either a six speed manual or eight-speed paddle shift transmission – both setups capable of reaching 60 miles per hour from a dig in just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed just shy of 190 mph. Of course speed isn’t everything, which is why Cadillac also equipped this bad by with Magnetic Ride Control (complete with four selectable drive modes) and Brembo brakes on all four corners. You’ll also be happy to know that the ATS-V comes with Recaro seats and a full color Heads-Up Display with a Performance Data Recorder option that lets you track everything from video and in-cabin audio to your personal 0-60 speed and lap times. It’s also available in your choice of coupe or sedan. No price point has been revealed, but this thing shows a lot of promise.
