Off the coast of Rhode Island, on Block Island, lies a beautiful little vacation home that’s been a family tradition for nearly 50 years. The original builder and renowned designer, Jens Risom, 97, has been getting it ready his family’s next generation, and by the looks of things, the kids are gonna be alright.
The land surrounding the home is bordered partly by a low stone wall, while inside this A-frame is a great mix of old and new. There’s a new Rais wood-burning stove and plenty of vintage family furnishings, including an original dining table and chairs. A wall of (new) glass awaits anyone looking north, with a new sliding steel door for the side entrance. A small workstation sits on the upper level, but who can work here?
