When we get together for some scotch taste testing, we always come equipped with our Glencarin glasses. It seems that for many alcohols like whisky and wine, there are specific glasses designed for drinkers to fully appreciate the experience of the spirit, and now IPA fans can join the party as well.
Designed specifically for drinking India Pale Ales, the Spiegelau IPA Glass was designed and developed as a collaboration project between Ken Grossman of Sierra Nevada and Sam Coagione of Dogfish Head. Set to land at select retailers this coming May, the glass features ridges at the bottom to aerate the beer, while the closed top works similarly to the Glencarin glass for whisky, channeling the aromas right to your nose. Expect to spend about $25 for a 2 pack when these release.
